I am an Attorney and a member of the law firm, Clement & Wheatley, located in Danville, Virginia. Our law firm is the largest in southside Virginia with twelve attorneys, each concentrating their practices in various areas of the law.

I concentrate my practice in the areas of preparing wills and trusts; planning estates; administering estates and preparing estate tax returns; incorporating, merging, and dissolving corporations; and dealing with various areas of tax law. In addition to being an attorney (admitted to practice in Virginia and Georgia), I am also a Certified Public Accountant (in Virginia).

I am a Danville native and a 1974 graduate of George Washington High School. I graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce of the University of Virginia in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce with a concentration in accounting. I practiced public accounting for three years with Manning, Perkinson, Floyd & Company in Danville, Virginia. I thereafter attended and received a Juris Doctor Degree in 1985 from the Walter F. George School of Law of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. I then pursued and received a Master of Law and Taxation Degree in 1986 from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law of the College of William and Mary.

I have been an adjunct faculty member of Danville Community College teaching various courses relating to estate planning. I also have been an adjunct faculty member of Averett University in Danville, Virginia, and have taught in the Paralegal Program and in the AACE MBA program.
